ABSTRACT
This paper focuses on the entrepreneurial opportunities in Information and Communication Technology. ICT has a lot to offer and it’s one of the tools to overcome poverty. ICT can reduce poverty especially in the rural area by creating job opportunities. The role of ICT in job creation is the most important aspect of this work, while other potentials like, improving rural livelihood through geographical information systems, mobile phone as well as traditional media such as radio and TV is also discussed. In view of the important role ICT plays in all aspects of our personal and business lives, the ICT entrepreneur has become critical to development. In this era of globalization, ICT entrepreneurship allows countries like Nigeria to become producer and creators of jobs in the high value areas of the knowledge economy. ICT entrepreneurial learning is required to achieve the potentials available in the ICT use in entrepreneurship in today’s digital world.
